YPAC is non-governmental, non-profit organisation established in 1993.

Main aims:

?   Prevention of suicide and psychological crisis among youth

?   Psychological support for children and young people

We run:

?   A telephone help line for people who feel suicidal, or are in a crisis (?Youth Line?)

?   A training facility for help line volunteers

?   A club for children and teenagers of the local community

?   We also provide professional psychological aid

Telephone Help Line ?Youth Line?

?   In 11 years our help line has answered 95000 calls, including 3500 suicidal ones

?   We have prepared 150 volunteers who have spent 60 000 hours befriending our callers

?   We had 18 attempted suicides during the phone call last year

Children and Teenagers Club ?Veidrodukas? (A Little Mirror)

?   For children from ?difficult? families of the local neighbourhood, where unemployment and crime rates are high

?   We currently have 25 children in the club aged 8-15.

?   There is a potential for expansion to 50 children.

Psychological counselling is provided by professional mental health care experts.
